Adult Painting Therapy: Color & Texture Workshop

Art is the greatest teacher and a powerful form of self-expression and self-healing. Creating art is in its very essence is a therapeutic & stimulating experience, the art of doing & creating something feeds our soul and hearts. In this relaxing course we invite participants to intuitively embrace the innate creative potential & responses that reside within all of us. In this relaxing class, we welcome you to explore the healing powers of painting with engaging color & texture exercises. Learn how color plays a huge part in our lives and well being, investigate texture combinations & learn how to paint in a spontaneous way that will free you up and get you in touch with self again! From week to week, through both individual & group experience, students are encouraged to explore & develop their trust in the liberating creative potential of art within the therapeutic process & invention. It is a largely experiential class not about the finished product but more a lived experience that explores humanistic and integrative concepts to an understanding of the therapeutic potential of Art as Therapy.
Even if you never picked up a paintbrush, this class will move you toward understanding, as you learn a new language, your confidence will grow. This is an awesome class to take with a partner, loved one or friend (group of friends) for a cool bonding experience!

Materials:
Painting supplies are included, but not canvas, please bring a canvas with you to your first class. We suggest a medium size canvas to start. You may need additional canvas throughout the duration of your course, depending on the project & how small/large you work. Limited select size canvas are available for purchase cash on delivery $35 & up (Please have the proper change with you). If you require a large canvas or specific/ customized canvas please purchase & bring with you to class, as we may not have these available at the studio.
Speciality materials such as glazes or mediums might be introduced for basic exploration but are not available on a week to week basis, if you require these speciality materials please bring with you to class.
