Participants in this course will explore data-based leadership practices to support teacher growth. Due to the changes in Illinois legislation regarding the Performance Evaluation and Reform Act (PERA), it is important for administrators to develop systems of data-based reflection, careful analysis, and ongoing professional development in order to improve instructional practices to increase student achievement. Participants will identify available sources of data that reflects both student achievement and data that reflect instructional practices that shape student outcomes, and will discuss ways to use this data for school improvement purposes. Participants will leave the session with a data-based professional development plan that they can apply immediately in their own workplace contexts.
