A registration confirmation email will be sent to your confirmed email address used in the Ticket Holder information.

Please note: This test date is ONLY for the City of Phoenix, Arizona operators and it is not open to the public.
Please contact:

Mr. Keith Mojica will have a list of operators that will need to take the exam. Do not continue with the test order if you ARE NOT an operator from the City of Phoenix.  However, if space is still available a few weeks before the test date, the available seats may be opened up to the public.  So, please keep checking.

ADEQ’s Operator Certification Program establishes guidelines
to ensure that only certified operators make decisions about process control or
system integrity that affects public health. The program establishes minimum
standards for certification and re-certification of the operators of drinking
water and wastewater systems.

Operators must hold the lower grade level certificate for one full year (365 days from your effective date), prior to sitting for the next grade level exam.  Operators may check the effective date of their certificate(s) by using the Operator Certification Database (https://legacy.azdeq.gov/databases/opcertsearch_drupal.html )

Testing early (before 365 days from your effective date) requires ADEQ approval prior to sitting for the exam.  Use the Operator Certification Early Exam Application (http://www.azdeq.gov/node/642 ) to begin this review process.

GateWay Community College is the only entity in Arizona that offers and proctors the ADEQ Operator Certification exams. GateWay offers the exams on campus and throughout Arizona. Visit our registration website https://sites.google.com/a/maricopa.edu/adeq-operator-certification/home for more information and scheduled test dates.
This is a 3-hour exam with 100 multiple-choice questions. YOU CAN ONLY ORDER ONE TYPE OF EXAM PER TEST PERIOD. The only payment option to order the tests is with a credit card (all other options are not accepted). The test order is final and no test cancellations are available. In addition, no test fee reimbursements are provided. So make sure that you order the right type of test and that you have cleared your test date with your supervisor.
Note for Supervisors: Purplepass will allow to use the same credit card to order the test for several operators, if needed. HOWEVER, each operator must have a separate test order (i.e., no more than ONE test type per order). Only one test type per test session for each operator. Remember that ALL orders are final: no cancellations, no reimbursements, and no change of test type once you have placed the order. Please email to operatorcert@gatewaycc.edu if you have any questions.

You can also download the conversion tables used at the exam so you can familiarize yourself with them ahead of time. However, you cannot take those to the exam. GateWay will provide those to you at the testing site. You can also take a sample exam so you can become familiar with the testing format.
