ACP March Event: Wildfire Continuity Special Speaker, Emergency Planning Specialist for The Getty
The Association of Continuity Professionals will present a informative lunchtime speaker on wildfire continuity and preparedness at its March 3rd meeting.
About Our Special Speaker
In the early morning hours of October 28th, a broken branch started a 745 acre brush fire which destroyed homes, damaged others and threatened the Getty, a major local art institution. Les Borsay, Emergency Planning Specialist for the J. Paul Getty Trust Security & Visitor Services Department, will discuss not only the events surrounding the Getty Fire. He will also discuss what preparations The Getty takes to ensure the Center is safe from brush fires and how preparing helped them weather the fire.
