ABOUT THIS EVENTComposer, trombonist, educator and historian George Lewis speaks about his sweeping account of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians, and the impact of this organization on his own work over the years. A MacArthur Fellow and Edwin H. Case Professor of American Music at Columbia University, Lewis shares an insider’s perspective on this organization and its ongoing support of experimental music.

No ticket is needed to attend this event. WHY REGISTER? Registrations allow us to send a reminder about the event and notify you of any changes in the event status, like cancellation, venue change or time change. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and seating is not guaranteed. BE ASSURED, though, that you will likely get a seat if you arrive 30 minutes in advance of the event.
