A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child on 35mm with Props!
With props and replicas on display from Joe Delfino.
Is it a girl or boy? OR IS IT FREDDY? As the most popular child-rapist in the history of motion pictures continued his ascent as the most popular child-rapist-turned-comedian in the history of motion pictures, the ELM STREET franchise decided to tackle the most horrific disease to ever plague mankind -- pregnancy. In THE DREAM CHILD, the story of Freddy's conception somehow morphs into the story of Freddy's possession of an unborn child. That sounds like it makes no sense because it makes no sense. But who cares?!! Freddy's fifth birthday is a phantasmogorical celebration of stop-motion violence, M.C. Escher-styled sets, dumb dialogue ("I must be released from this earthly prison!"), grotesque special effects, and death-by-refrigerator. Beautifully shot and perfectly paced, this movie attempts to reinvigorate the dark roots of the ELM STREET series. But that plan changes when Freddy pops an ollie on a skateboard. After reading that sentence, how could you not want to watch this movie?
