Local Initiative Helping Local Businesses Get 8a Certified; Receive Government Contracts
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Fresno District Office, hosted by the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce announces the launch of “8a Certification Bootcamp,” a local initiative to train 50 small, disadvantaged San Joaquin Valley businesses to become 8a certified. The Fresno District Office will provide four weeks of intensive Thursday afternoon classes in January to give small business owners the technical assistance they need to prepare successful 8a applications.
8a Certification Bootcamp will kick off on Thursday, January 9th at 9:00 am with the first 90 minute class, “8a Expectations: An Overview of the program and Eligibility Requirements” at the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce located at 1444 Fulton St, Suite 206, Fresno CA 93721
The initiative will include three other 90 minute classes: Thursday, January 16th “Introduction to Federal Contracting”; Thursday, January 23rd, “Winning Contracts”; and Thursday January 30 “Business Planning & Operational Management.”
All classes are at NO COST, and will be taught by SBA’s 8a experts, and guest speakers will include local business owners who have used 8a certification to grow their companies.
