New! NWEA’s MAP Growth Computer Adaptive Assessment for the 2019–20 School Year
As you may have already seen in the April 30th edition of Principals Weekly, NWEA’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth assessments will be a supported Periodic Assessment option for schools beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. MAP Growth is a computer adaptive assessment and will be replacing Performance Series in the Periodic Assessment portfolio beginning in September 2019. MAP Growth offers comparable and additional grades and subjects as Performance Series. It will be available for grades K–12 in ELA (Reading and Language Arts), grades K–8 in Math, High School Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, and grades 3–8 in Science. Schools will be able to choose MAP Growth as part of their 2019–20 school year formative assessment strategy in the Periodic Assessment Selection Tool beginning in June 2019; use of the assessment is free for schools.
Administrators and school leaders are invited to attend in-person informational sessions in July to learn about MAP and how schools can transition from Performance Series to MAP Growth.
