60W Baby Blue Laser Engraver Operation and Safety

In order to use the 60W Universal 6.60 "Baby Blue" ATX Hackerspace laser cutter, you must first take the 60W Laser Operation Class from a certified ATX Hackerspace instructor.

Once you have taken the course, you can schedule time on and operate the 60W Universal 6.60 laser cutter.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a current member of ATX Hackerspace in good standing

You will learn

  • Theory of how the laser cutter works
  • How to safely start up and shut down the Laser Cutter
  • How to clean and adjust the Laser Cutter before/after use
  • What materials are safe to use in the laser cutter
  • How to clean
  • How to load and unload material
  • Setting up, importing, and drawing files in Corel Draw and Inkscape for lasering
  • Setting up the ULS 6.60 printer driver out of Corel Draw to engrave and cut materials.
  • Learning how to deal with different materials such as Plywood, Paper, Mat board, Corrugated Cardboard, Acrylic, and Anodized Aluminum
