Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to participate in the 2nd Rhoton Society meeting and the 8th International Symposium on Microsurgical Neuroanatomy to be celebrated between August 3rd to 8th, 2020, at Stanford Medicine Campus, Palo Alto, California.

The Rhoton Society was founded in 2018 in Tianjin, China, by a group of Prof. Rhoton fellows with the goals of honoring and celebrating his life and legacy, and to “keep working” to ensure that the field of microneurosurgical anatomy is embraced by the next generation of neurosurgeons“We study microsurgical anatomy to make what is a delicate, fateful, awesome experience for our patients, more accurate, gentle, and safe”

The topic of the meeting is Tradition & Innovation, reflecting the importance of adhering to the classic principles of microneurosurgery and at the same time encouraging advancement and progress in our field.

The meeting is structured replicating Prof. Rhoton’s classical week-long events, starting on August 3rd with complimentary Live-Surgery, continuing with a 3-day Hands-On Course with 24 microscopic/endoscopic stations, and culminating with a 2-day Symposium where fellows will teach 3D microsurgical neuroanatomy and masters will illustrate their surgical skills and challenges with HD and 3D video case presentations.

The Rhoton Society aims to transcend its origins and emerge as an international forum for the field of microsurgical neuroanatomy and technique. With this in mind, there will be 4 special lectures honoring 4 Universal Masters and Schools from 4 different regions of the World that have influenced us all: The Rhoton Lecture, The Evandro de Oliveira Lecture, The Kamiyama Lecture, and The Yasargil Lecture.

In addition to the exciting scientific program we plan to have a terrific time with the greater Rhoton family of friends, fellows and colleagues. Stanford is one of the world's leading teaching and research universities, with an outstanding campus located in the heart of Silicon Valley, just a 30-minute drive from San Francisco International Airport and in driving distance from some of the most iconic places in North America: San Francisco city, Carmel and Monterey Bay, Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, among others.

We truly hope to have you join us for this one-in-a-lifetime event and become part of the Rhoton Society! With best wishes,
