Farm Makers Workshop Summer Camp for Ages 7-12

Calling all artists! Unleash your creativity with Farm Makers Workshop. Using the natural environment as our muse and the farm as our inspiration, we'll work together to explore all types of artistic expression. As a team, we’ll design and install a garden art legacy project that will beautify the Youth Garden throughout the year.

This is a crafty week for crafty kids:

  • How do science and art work together? Learn how plants work and create your own field studies drawn from the farm.
  • Create crafts such as natural dyes, pressed flowers, plant sculptures, seed art, and so much more. You won’t go home empty-handed.
  • Embrace the possibilities of upcycling by making art with found objects from the farm and common household items.
  • Bugs need love, too! Build hotels for hard-working beneficial bug buddies that help keep our gardens happy and healthy.

If you’re an aspiring artist or gardener, this camp is for you!

What do hand-picked harvests, busy bees, handmade creations, pizza parties, insect investigations, chicken egg incubations, and garden taste-tests have in common? They all happen at a 21 Acres Summer Farm Camp!
21 Acres is an inspiring place for young adventurers to play, learn, and engage with a dynamic farm ecosystem. Campers will explore a variety of wildlife, farm life, crafts, experiments, and games on our working, regenerative farm. All on-farm camps will include:
Dig in the Dirt—At our summer camps, we love to get dirty! Get a scientific appreciation for what’s just below your feet as you play in the muddy earth. Campers have plenty of supervised opportunities to run, explore, and dig in the rich farm soil. You won’t come home with clean clothes!
Meet the Animals—Our animals play an important role on the 21 Acres farm. Every morning campers will assist in farm chores: feeding the worms, collecting eggs, and brushing the friendly goats! Campers will gain an appreciation for animals within the farm community alongside our farmers.
Walking Field Trips—Our valley is home to many features we want to share with our campers! Walk with us to places like the Sammamish River, Tonnemaker’s Farm Stand, or through revived wetlands to discover what makes our agricultural valley special.
Special Guests—Each week, experts will join us on the farm to share what they know best.Ever wanted to meet an owl or hold a hawk? Meet John the Falconer to get up-close-and-personal with raptors. Discover the curious world of bees with Nan, our Apiary Manager, or learn about how essential frogs and bugs are to our wetlands with Restoration Specialist Jess. We never know who we might meet—but it’s sure to be a meet-and-greet you won’t find anywhere else!
Taste the Farm — Campers will harvest and taste seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers grown on our farm. We will work as a group to challenge our taste buds and create a tasty farm-fresh snack.
Make & Take— From bug houses to flower-pressing and planters to poetry, we love making things with our own hands. While crafts vary from week to week, all campers will have something to take home and proudly share with friends and family.

Friday Pizza Party—Who doesn’t love pizza? Help harvest ingredients, prepare unique pizzas, and bake them in our on-farm wood-fired oven. This pizza party caps off each and every week of farm camp.
At 21 Acres, students of all ages are challenged to become stewards of our planet. Everything we teach supports an enduring engagement in regenerative farms and sustainable food systems. There is no better place to empower youth to impact climate change than on a farm.
