2020 Genetics Retreat

Opportunities to Participate at This Year's Retreat:

Featured Speaker:

As we did last year, we are asking faculty members to nominate a student or postdoc in their lab to speak as a "Featured Speaker" at the retreat. A faculty member can send the name and contact information with a short summary of the talk to the retreat committee by Monday, January 13, 2020 at retreat_committee@genetics.med.harvard.edu. We strongly encourage any student or postdoc that would like to speak at the retreat to talk with your PI so you can be nominated.

Poster Competition:

We will be holding a poster competition with great prizes for this year's Poster Session. All are encouraged to participate!

Requirements: You must attend the entire poster session. Poster size of no more than 48” x 48” and should be a single sheet poster, due to space constraints, posters larger than this CANNOT be displayed.

Retreat T-Shirt Design Contest:

Please send your designs for the Retreat T-Shirt! You can use two colors and the t-shirt in your design. Please submit your designs to Jennifer_Etter@hms.harvard.edu by Friday January 31st, 2020.  The winning designs will receive a special gift.

Genetics Department Green Initiatives

We encourage you to bring refillable water bottles to minimize the plastic bottle waste. 

We will also be using a QR code for sign in so please save your ticket on your phone or save your email. The retreat program will also be available online or poster board in order to reduce paper waste.

Monday Night After-Party 5:00-7:30pm

The after-party this year will be held at Flat Top Johnny’s just down the street from the Broad Institute. Drink tickets will be available at the door and appetizers will be served. Come play a round of pool or two!  (Flat Top Johnny’s: 1 Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA, 02139)
