Demo-Day is an event to mark the culmination of our startup pre-accelerator known as UD's Horn Entrepreneurship Summer Founders.

Demo Day is similar to traditional accelerator programs, where entrepreneurs present their final business models with participation from those in the audience. This year marks our fourth Summer Founders pre-accelerator. A look back at our success can be measured in launched or sustained startups and securing a unique entrepreneurial career. We now can claim sixteen startups and six unique personal career opportunities for past participants and we anticipate overall success with this year's entrepreneurs too.

Demo day is all about each team demonstrating their idea.  There will be lite lunch provided, 90 minutes of pitches by the eight teams and a networking activity giving you the chance to ask questions and give advice.  The award ceremony will end the day.

Please mark your calendar to become our much-anticipated audience for the 2019 Summer Founders Demo Day. Please expect to attend from 11 am until 3 pm.

2019 Summer Founders

360 VR - Sury Gupta and James Massaquoi

360VR Technology is a virtual reality and drone solution company with a focus on creating solutions around information aggregation to first responders during emergency situations.

EmpowHER - Amanda Monachelli

EmpowHER addresses the pain points of mastectomy bras and works directly with breast cancer survivors to create undergarments to ensure comfort, practicality, and confidence while establishing a community of empowered women in the process.

Fash'IN' - Kelsey Kosinski

Designing adaptive clothing for people living with disabilities.

Compass - Darian Elmendorf

Compass strives to end suicide by building mindful communities and educating people about important mental health-related topics to raise awareness and reduce stigma. Our communities raise money to assist improvements to the quantity, quality, and accessibility of mental health resources offered by organizations.

Little Brother  - James W Mesaros and Khalil Darouichi

Eavesdropping and secret recordings leave many people paranoid and without peace of mind in their offices and homes, where they should have a right to privacy and security. Little Brother’s eave-stopping technology creates an inaudible sound that only microphones and eavesdropping devices can hear, providing seamless and silent privacy for users. Little Brother will meet the different levels of need that are found in the home, private and public sectors, and bring peace of mind back to smart device users.

Potluck. - Abubakarr Kamara and Hope Vega

Potluck. is a grocery and snack delivery service specifically for international students to reach ethnic food markets.

We are targeting international students at UD because we understand that food is important for making people feel at home. However, the current process of getting the food they love is inconvenient.

SEWcial Café - ChaCha Hudson

The SEWcial Café, pronounced The Social Café, is a community sewing space for women to create, collaborate, and develop handmade products in a relaxed and inspiring environment that encourages innovation.

Snoop - Andrew Cercena and Nick Nova

Snoop solves the problem that high school students are unable to find the best fit school for them in the stressful college decision process. We connect high school students with honest and open college students to talk about what the culture is truly like on various college campuses. We offer both 1-on-1 and panel options for high school students to choose from. With 1-on-1s being more personal, we would connect a high school student with a college student of the same major of interest to help the high school student get a better understanding of what school life may be like if they go into that school with that major. Our panel option would bring together an array of different high school and college students from different schools to help give a more diverse perspective of several colleges in one big group discussion.
