2018 Kids Against Hunger Meal Packing Event

Join the Kiwanis Club of Livonia, the Churchill High School Key Club, and the Churchill High School National Honor Society as we pack 20,000 meals in 1.5 hours for families without food.

The Kids Against Hunger fortified soy/rice casserole-style meals are specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of a starving child.  Volunteers as young as six years old can help pack meals, with adult assistance up to age 13.  1/3 of the meals will go to local food pantries.  The other 2/3 will support national disaster-relief programs and international humanitarian groups. FAQs

Should I arrive early?

Sign in will begin at 9:00AM.  Please arrive no later than 9:15AM to ensure that you have time to wash your hands and don a hairnet and plastic gloves prior to packing.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There are no ID requirements.  Minimum age is 6 years old.  All children under the age of 14 need adult supervision.  Children should be able to reach over a standard height table.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Please park in the school's front parking lot along Newburgh Road.  You can also park across the street at the Livonia Career Technical Center.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please do not bring any food or drinks. Light breakfast items will be provided. If you bring a purse, you will not be able to carry it with you while packing food. You will need to leave it on the coat table. Phones and cameras are encouraged for photo opportunities during and after the event.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes.  Just have the attendee tell us who he or she is replacing upon arrival so we can check your name off the list.  If you sign up for a group, please have group members state the group name upon arrival.
