Join TechPoint Foundation for Youth at DeveloperTown for the second annual CoderDojo Hackathon on July 28, 2018. This year's brand new challenges will thrill both beginners and experienced ninjas. Check out the info below and visit www.techpointyouth.org/2018-hackathon to learn more!

THE CHALLENGES

**Please register only for the challenge in which you intend to participate. There will not be adequate time to participate in more than one challenge**

Scratch (Individual)

For our Scratch ninjas of all experience levels. Register as an individual to compete in this track.

Python (Individual)

Thanks to content sponsor IndyPy, we're excited to offer several new Python challenges for novice to advanced Python ninjas. Register as an individual to compete in this track.

GameCraft (Team)

Teams of 2-6 students will have five hours to work on an interactive game using Unity or PlayCanvas. Some pre-work will be required to compete in this hackathon challenge. When you register for this track you will be prompted to select your Dojo - ninjas will compete as a Dojo team. Don't belong to a CoderDojo yet? Contact courtney@techpointyouth.org for assistance!

AppBuilder (Team)

Teams of 2-6 students will have five hours to build an app using MIT App Inventor. Some pre-work will be required to compete in this hackathon challenge. When you register for this track you will be prompted to select your Dojo - ninjas will compete as a Dojo team. THE AWARDS

CoderDojo Indiana strives to recognize ninjas who demonstrate our core values: innovation, determination, and collaboration. Each challenge track will award teams and/or individuals for projects that exhibit excellence, innovation, determination, and collaboration.

Ninjas will also have a chance to win door prizes, giveaways, and other cool tech swag!

FAQs

What are ninjas and Champions?

A ninja is any student aged 7-17 who attends a CoderDojo and/or will compete in one of our hackathon challenges. Champions are the amazing volunteers who step up to lead a CoderDojo in their community.

Can I only register for one challenge?

Yes - you must register for the challenge in which you intend to compete. On the day of the event, if you change your mind (or want to try something new), we will do our best to accomodate you.

What time should I arrive?

Get to DeveloperTown by 9:00am EST. You won't want to miss the opening ceremony and instructions!

Will you provide food?

Morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon snacks will be provided for ninjas who are competing in our challenges as well as our CoderDojo Champions.
