Save the date for our Annual Collegiate Conference for ACDA Collegiate Chapter members, In service teachers and community singers.

Join us for a whole day as we use drumming and improvisation to explore body connection and rhythm in our teaching and singing. We will collaborate with the NH Master Chorale Children’s Chorus Festival to apply some of our work in a collaborative workshop and perform together as a culmination of our work. Professional Development hours available!

Dear Collegiate ACDA Conference Attendees: We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 14th at Plymouth State University for what promises to be a unique and stimulating conference! A few reminders: ATTIRE: Wear comfortable, casual clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one. PARKING: You may park in any Silver (or campus) lots on Saturday without a permit. LUNCH: included PAYMENT: If you have not already paid, please bring your registration fee with you on Saturday. Do not use 17 High Street (mailing address only). From the south: I-93N to exit 25, right off the ramp and follow straight to the roundabout. Turn onto Main Street (Route 3S/25E). The Silver Center is on your right. Take your first right hand turn for parking. From the north: I-93S to exit 25, right off the ramp and follow straight to the roundabout. Turn onto Main Street (Route 3S/25E). The Silver Center is on your right. Take your first right hand turn for parking. From the west: I-91 to I-89 south. Drive approximately 10 minutes and take the Canaan/Enfield exit. At the end of the exit, turn right into Route 4. Route 4 will merge into Route 118 in Canaan-bear left. Stay on Route 118 until it intersects with Route 25-then turn right. Drive approximately 10 miles. You will come to a rotary-follow signs to Tenney Mtn. Highway/Plymouth. Drive 1.8 miles and then bear right onto Highland St and travel for 2 miles. Merge to the left around the Town Common. Just past the Common, take a left onto Court St. and then an immediate right into the Silver Center parking lot. From the east: Take Route 302 into NH and travel to the intersection of Route 16. Drive south on Rt 16 (10 minutes) to the intersection of Route 25. Take right onto Route 25 to Meredith (30 minutes). At intersection of Route 3-turn right. Travel 15 minutes on Route 3 to Route 175 in Holderness and turn right. Bear right in Route 175A until you reach the roundabout. Turn onto Main St. – the Silver Center is immediately on your right. Take your first right onto Court St and then another right into the parking lot.

Hailed by the Boston Globe as a "sure-fingered guitar virtuoso", Randy Armstrong is the co-founder of Do’a World Music Ensembleand UNU MONDO. With a collection of over two hundred instruments from around the world, including acoustic, synthesizer and nylon-string guitars, sitar, balofon, djembe, koto, charango, mbira and a wide variety of percussion and stringed instruments, he has amazed audiences throughout the United States, Canada, Alaska, and India. Randy recently returned from Central America and West Africa performing and studying with Garifuna musicians and drummers in Dangriga and Hopkins, Belize and Ewe, Fanti and Ga drummers in Accra and Legon, Ghana. He has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall and festivals at Lincoln Center in New York City. Randy holds a degree in composition and world music studies and has conducted workshops at schools, universities and cultural institutions throughout the United States. He is an adjunct faculty instructor of West African drumming and North Indian sitar and tabla at Phillips Exeter Academy and teaches for the Graduate Studies Integrated Arts Program at Plymouth State University. He also performs with the award-winning storytelling, music and movement duo, Armstrong & Aichele: World Tales that has been receiving wide critical acclaim. With Do’a World Music Ensemble and as a solo artist, he has been the recipient of numerous grants from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the New England Foundation for the Arts, the state arts councils of Arkansas, Arizona and New York and the National Endowment of the Arts. He has shared the stage with such artists as Dizzy Gillespie, King Sunny Ade, the Paul Winter Consort, Babtunde Olatunji, Pierre Bensusan, Michael Hedges, Eddie Palmieri and Richie Havens.
