19th Annual Philadelphia Defense Bar Holiday Party in Philadelphia

History: For 19 (!!!) years, an annually growing number of solo attorneys and smaller law firms have sponsored a holiday party that brings together people of all positions and backgrounds who work on criminal matters. Our guests routinely include prosecutors, public defenders, private attorneys, court staff, court reporters, police officers, sheriffs, private investigators, social workers, probation officers, law students and judges among many, many others who work in the courts. This year features many sponsors, most of them private attorneys or private law firms. Many of these sponsors and hosts are ex-prosecutors and ex-public defenders. Like the members of the judiciary themselves, the sponsors are all lawyers who have worn different hats in the past and may wear different hats in the future. Therefore, in our opinion, the sponsors and hosts do not represent a particular group or viewpoint within the criminal justice system. Purpose: The purpose of this event is to unite people whose professional obligations sometimes conflict. The last thing we want this party to be is exclusive. This is the CJC's 'people's party'. The invitations are a necessary evil for reasons of safety and limited resources. Our holiday party always brings together people in the court system of different viewpoints and backgrounds to enjoy each other's company for a night out. For some of our guests, it is a highlight of their work life during the holidays. There is no better time than the holidays to unite people of all stations who are involved in the criminal justice system and to show them the appreciation and respect they deserve. This year, sponsorship levels are set as follows (same as last year): Sponsorship Level | Donation | Ticket Price | # of Tickets Bronze | $450.00 | $45.00 | 10 Silver | $675.00 | $45.00 | 15 Gold | $1,350.00 | $45.00 | 30 Platinum | $2,025.00 | $45.00 | 45 Diamond | $2,700.00 | $45.00 | 60 A catered sponsor's and judge reception begins in the new Sponsor's Lounge from 5:00-6:00pm, after which it becomes open to the public. Food trucks will be parked outside with food, which is included in your ticket. In order to purchase, select the number of tickets you wish to purchase. There is no set minimum, but to be featured as a sponsor, you must purchase at least that level's number of tickets. In addition if you find yourself needing more tickets to hand out, you are always able to purchase more up to the date of the party. However, sponsorship materials go to print on December 8, 2019 so your level will be set as of that date, no matter how many tickets you purchase.
