Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club
Friday, April 29 - Thursday, May 4
http://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/oldfashioned

DIRECTOR APPEARANCES:
Director Holly De Ruyter will be present for audience discussion at all screenings. Moderating the discussions with De Ruyter on April 29 and May 2 will be Dave Hoekstra, former Chicago Sun-Times columnist-critic, current host of Nocturnal Journal on WGN-720AM and author of The Supper Club Book: A Celebration of a Midwest Tradition.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Revel in a nostalgic look at a Midwestern institution where maraschino-garnished drinks, plentiful comfort food, and family atmosphere reign supreme. Chicago filmmaker Holly De Ruyter scours the hinterlands for an affectionate look at the still-thriving supper club. Present-day fans, owners, and connoisseurs voice their appreciation along with fears for the future in the face of corporate chain competition.

And a "recommended" film in NEWCITY! Ray Pride writes, "OLD FASHIONED champions regional taste and strong communities...in a...pleasing way."

Great (3.5 star) review for OLD FASHIONED from Geoff Burton in CinemaTrek! He says, "OLD FASHIONED is terrific as a travelogue and Wisconsin rural dining guide (most supper clubs have rural locations). With a runtime under an hour, it's a perfect primer for anyone heading to the Badger State." Check out the review, then grab your tix here: http://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/oldfashioned
